Shawarma lovers rejoice, Yafo Dilworth is now open.
The restaurant is located in the former Just Fresh space inside the Kenilworth Commons Shopping Center on East Boulevard (near Foxcroft Wine).
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
This is Yafo’s third location – the other spots are in SouthPark and Plaza Midwood. Owner Frank Scibelli shared with the Agenda that Yafo is also eyeing a Ballantyne location.
If for some crazy reason this is your first time to the fast-casual Mediterranean and Israeli restaurant, I recommend their shawarma bowl — shawarma chicken, tzatziki, cucumber and tomato salad, tahini, sumac onion and schug ($10.99). I also recommend Yafo’s hummus, and when you’re feeling indulgent, get a side of their unique mac and cheese.
Yafo Corporate Chef and Partner Shai Fargian said to expect new desserts (think pastries) at Yafo Dilworth. Additionally, Shai and Frank recently took a food-tasting trip to Greece and Israel — so look out for more more menu tweaks over the next 12 months.
