There’s nothing wrong with my $350 trusty Bonobos suit, but at 34 years old, it was past the time for me to invest in a suit that fits. So, I turned to our Agenda partner, TABOR, for a custom suit that would last.

TABOR, an modern men’s store located in a Myers Park bungalow, exudes cool. But it’s not pretentious. It’s actually laid back.

Throughout the year, they invite cool national brands into the bungalow for custom, made-to-measure events, and they’ll be launching their own in-house custom program in 2019.

A few weeks ago, they had Freemans Sporting Club, a brand based out of New York City, into the bungalow.

I swung by to get fitted for a full suit.

The suit buying process was thorough and efficient. It felt comforting to be in the hands of pros.

“I’m looking for something traditional,” I told the Freemans tailor. He flipped through the book of fabrics and landed on a solid dark navy. “Let’s do it.”

From there, the Freemans Sporting Club master tailor made about a dozen measurements and pointed out the fact that my right shoulder was slighter lower than my left — which makes sense considering I broke my collar bone in a 5th grade rollerblading accident (I tried to jump four trash cans and nailed the last one, hard).

It took about 20 minutes.

When the suit arrived a few weeks later, I did one final fitting (everything looked good) and arrived home that evening looking like Bradley Cooper.
