The Mint Museum’s newest exhibition, Michael Sherrill Retrospective, is now open at their Uptown location. Working with clay, glass and metal, this NC native’s flower sculptures are a dream for any nature lover.


The Target dollar section has transitioned from all things spooky and pumpkin spice to being decked out in tinsel and Christmas tchotchkes, which means the holiday season – and all of the festive events that come with it – is in full swing.

Here are 10 events you don’t want to miss this November, listed in chronological order.

“Hamilton”

Through Nov. 4  | Belk Theater  | Varies  | Varies  | Details

Why you should go: There are only a handful of showings for “Hamilton” left – the last one is 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 4. There are still a few seats left, but if you’d rather try your luck than pay high dollar, download the Hamilton app and enter the ticket lottery for chance to purchase up to two $10 tickets.

2018 Novant Health Charlotte Marathon

Nov. 3 | Romare Bearden Park | 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. | $15-$250 | Details

Why you should go: There are options for every runner or walker, including a marathon, half marathon, relay race, 5K and 1-mile run. In five years, the race has raised almost $100,000 for Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital Child Life Program, so join the race and keep the good going.


Southern Christmas Show

Nov. 8-18 | The Park Expo and Conference Center | Varies | $13-$15 | Details

Why you should go: Arguably the most festive shopping experience, there are more than 450 vendors selling all things Christmas. From ornaments to wreaths to gift items, you can cross a lot of things off of you holiday shopping list at once. There’s also wine tastings, food, crafts and live music.


Friendsgiving

Nov. 8  | The Assembly Room at The Foundry  | 6:30-10:30 p.m.  | $150  | Tickets

Why you should go: Relish Carolina puts together large-scale dinner parties where people can connect and eat good food, and they’re doing it big for Thanksgiving. The idea is bring people together, celebrate the holidays and make new friends.


Fall Oyster Roast

Nov. 10 | Sycamore Brewing | Noon to 5 p.m. | Free | Details

Why you should go: Oysters Carolina will be serving up some award-winning oysters, acoustic band Falconheart will be performing live music and there will be wine, craft beer and cider. Gryro Twins Truck will also be on site.


Woofstock 2018

Nov. 17 | NoDa Brewing Company | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. | $5 donation | Details

Why you should go: Bring your own dog and/or be prepared to fall in love with one of the many adoptable dogs that’ll be at the event.  There will be food trucks, beer and vendors. Donate $5, and get your first beer on the house.


2018 Vintage Charlotte Winter Market

Nov. 17 |The Fillmore | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | $2-$7 | Details

Why you should go: The 7th annual VTGCLT has 40-some vendors offerings handmade and vintage goods. Plus, Hex Coffee and The Dumpling Lady will be there to keep you caffeinated and satiated while you shop.


2018 Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade

Nov. 22 |Uptown | 9 a.m. to noon | Free | Details

Why you should go: A 71-year tradition, the parade features a dozen decked out floats, huge balloons, performances, marching bands and special appearances like Santa, Miss North Carolina and the cast of Carowinds’ Winterfest. If you want to snag a seat right in front of the action, you can reserve a chair ahead of time for $25 or $30 the day of.


Charlotte Christmas Village

Nov. 22 to Dec. 24 |Corner of 7th Street and North Tryon | 11 a.m. weekends, 3 p.m. weekdays | Free | Details

Why you should go: Inspired by traditional European Christmas markets, there will be a German bakery, Austrian strudels and other festive treats. Wash it all down with German Glühwein, a mulled spiced wine. You can also expect trivia, live entertainment, a Santa Village, vendors and more.


Holidays in the Garden

Nov. 23- Jan.6 | Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden | 5-9 p.m. | Varies | Details

Why you should go: Daniel Stowe’s annual Holidays in the Garden event includes about a mile of lights – some synchronized with music – a Christmas village display, visits from Santa and more. Explore the gardens and then sit by a fire pit to roast marshmallows and sip on something warm.
