Like any major city, Charlotte has its fair share of celebrities who were born here or now call it home. From Emily Maynard to Billy Graham, famous people of all careers, ages, and purposes have called the Queen City home. After an extensive 5-minute Wikipedia search, here is a ridiculous list of my favorite celebrities with a Charlotte tie.

(1) Jim Rash

The guy has won an Emmy and and Academy Award for writing The Descendants, directed The Way, Way Back (one of my favorite movies), and is known for playing the dean in Community. This is the role of a lifetime as you can see:

(2) Dwight Clark

This former wide receiver graduated from Garinger High School and went on to play for Clemson University before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 1979. His professional career was relatively uneventful if you exclude the fact that he won two Super Bowls, went to two Pro Bowls, has his number retired by the 49ers, and was part of one of the most iconic football plays of all time: “The Catch

(3) K-Ci & JoJo

Speaking from personal experience, when I sang “Crazy” in my high-pitched, cracking voice, I meant every word (even if I had no concept of what love actually was). And even more important than all the failed middle school crushes they might have caused, K-Ci & JoJo’s music taught me how to live, how to love, and most importantly taught me an appreciation of late 90’s R&B.
