Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is now open in South End.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The scoop shop is located in front of the Design Center on Camden Road, just around the corner from Superica, the hot new Tex-Mex restaurant. This is the first Jeni’s location in North Carolina and 35th overall.
On Thursday, August 9, Jeni’s will be closed during the day and open at 7 p.m. that night. They’ll give away free ice cream to everyone who shows up as part of their grand opening celebration.
And you can meet the ice cream rockstar herself. Jeni Britton Bauer will be coming to Charlotte that night. The first 50 people in line will receive a Jeni’s swag bag, and everyone who comes out will get free ice cream of their choice.
With lines already wrapping around the entire building on hot days, it’s clear that Charlotte has embraced Jeni’s with open arms.
Jeni’s South End has about 20 flavor options ranging from honey vanilla bean to frose to goat cheese with red cherries. Looking at early sales data, here are Charlotte’s favorite Jeni’s ice cream flavors: Brambleberry Crisp, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and Gooey Butter Cake.

Single scoops or their standard two half scoops will run you $5.
