Lindsay had no idea that her husband, Blake, had nominated her for the award.
He says, “My wife is such a hardworking, admirable and deserving individual. In addition to focusing on our four kids she also runs a successful photography business, serves as a Bear Cub Scout leader, and is the organist at our church.”
True to form, Lindsay found out she was the Woman of the Year during a field trip to Raleigh with her son. Lindsay says, “We left at 5 a.m. on a bus brigade with hundreds of rambunctious 10-year-olds. Criswell & Criswell called, explaining that my husband had nominated me for a contest in their office and I had won!”
Drs. Kara and Bryan Criswell were inspired to start the annual award program because “there are so many amazing women who selflessly make invaluable contributions to society, putting the needs of others before theirs. We wanted to find a way to recognize and show gratitude for all that they do for their community. The woman that is happy is the one that is the most beautiful.”
Lindsay received from Criswell & Criswell Halo-fractional and SculpSure laser treatments, BBL and dermaplaning, Botox and fillers.
She says, “I had a ton of freckles and brown spots so the Halo laser treatment completely changed my skin. Getting a bit of filler in my lips and cheeks is something I never would have done for myself and I am loving it. Dr. Kara is so artistic and natural, I’m surprised at how much I love it; the biggest surprise was the filler in my temples! I had no idea that was even a thing, but I love the way it looks.”
What’s a makeover without a red-carpet reveal?
Lindsay also received a haircut and color by 8 the Salon, makeup by Woo Cosmetics, an outfit from Sloan Boutique, items from IC London, a gold necklace by David’s Ltd. Jewelers… culminating with dinner for Lindsay and her family and friends at The Cowfish.
Despite her makeover paparazzi, Lindsay is more at home behind the camera; part of her work as a photographer includes time dedicated to photographing terminally ill children and making memories for their families, and partnering with the Independence Fund to document catastrophically wounded veterans and their caregivers.
Lindsay says, “Receiving this award has given me a chance to do something I would have never imagined doing for myself and to be okay with taking time for me. Criswell & Criswell made me feel so special every time I walked through their doors; I would leave each procedure with a huge smile on my face… not just because I was excited about the procedure, but because they had made me feel so good in the process.”
