The new 131 Main is now open in SouthPark at 5970 Fairview Road.

The Dilworth location closed in April 2016 due to a fire and never re-opened. Two additional locations can be found in Lake Norman and at Blakeney (and in Asheville, in case you’re in the area).

The SouthPark location has been three to four years in the making, from the location decision to construction to the final product. The interior has a warm, rustic feel complete with wooden slats covering the ductwork and real leather booths.

The menu has been pared down over the years.

If you haven’t visited a 131 Main in a while, you may notice a smaller menu on upcoming visits. The team has taken fan favorites and created a simpler menu based on these items so they can focus on quality, not quantity.

Favorites among the favorites include Danish Baby Back Ribs ($28), Big Island Ribeye ($33), Thai Steak Salad ($22), and Banana Cream Pie ($9).

They feature a daily fresh fish.

131 Main participates in a “boat to table” program in which features a freshly caught fish overnighted to the restaurant daily (so it’s never frozen). The fish special on the night of my visit was a red snapper with a buttery lump crab sauce. Yes, please.

You can watch the kitchen action at the chef’s table.

I love a good open kitchen concept. 131 Main SouthPark has a chef’s table for your kitchen viewing pleasure. And like their other locations, they have outdoor dining options around big fire pits.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Hours are Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Friday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. While they don’t have a true brunch menu (yet), they do offer weekend specials such as eggs benedict.
