The Eagle Food & Beer Hall, a long-awaited fried chicken joint, opens tomorrow in South End’s Atherton Mill.
The popular Cincinnati-based restaurant chain has five locations serving fried chicken and other classic Southern fare. It’s owned by the Thunderdome Restaurant Group, which also owns Bakersfield in Dilworth.
The big picture: The Eagle is just a half-mile away from two beloved and long-standing fried chicken joints: Price’s Chicken Coop and The Shell gas station on the corner of East and South Boulevard. It’ll be interesting to see how the three options stack up.
Menu: While its fried chicken is the main attraction, The Eagle also offer bar snacks and sides like mac & cheese and collard greens. The top 3 dishes are:
- Fried chicken ($7-$19)
- Fried chicken sandwich ($10)
- Braised pork sandwich ($10)
Top 3 cocktails: Eagled Iced Tea ($9 glass, $34 pitcher), Bourbon Punch ($10 glass, $38 pitcher), and the Mule ($10).
Location/hours: 2120 South Boulevard, Ste. 1 in South End. Open nightly from 4-10 p.m. Guests can dine-in or order take-out.
