A year ago, Camp North End was nothing but promises and potential.
The 75-acre industrial complex formerly home to a munitions plant and a Rite Aid distribution center had good bones, certainly.
And New York developer ATCO hired a rockstar team to set the stage for Camp North End to become the next big urban community, just north of Uptown.

That vision is now quickly becoming fleshed out.
Today, Camp North End is alive with activity. Earthmovers are at work in the Boileryard, putting in a new pergola for shade on summer days.
Construction vehicles roll in and out renovating one of the Graham Street buildings for creative office space. Food trucks sling sandwiches.
On Saturday mornings, people sip coffee, crush waffles and jam to live music. Influencers take selfies in front of the iconic water tower. Digital nomads type away at Hygge’s new coworking location.
But perhaps most impressive of all is “retail row.”
The empty warehouse building has been turned into a string of storefronts, from the Prism Supply vintage motorcycle shop to the Dupp & Swat creative studio, and from the Alchemy: The Workshop hair salon to the BLKTECHCLT community hub.
Hex Coffee has announced a location, and Goodyear Arts has moved to Camp North End as well.
Look for another successful year for Camp North End.
More are coming soon. Ally Financial recently announced it will put an “innovation studio” at Camp North End, used for consumer banking prototyping and design.
Friday night festivals in the Boileryard and public tours are expected to kick off again in mid-May.
