“I’m excited to store stuff!” said no one, ever.
But I just took a tour of the new South Blvd. location of Morningstar Storage, and I’m legitimately excited to take advantage of the whole Morningstar experience.
For starters, they understand those little perks that make your day better. Easy parking? Free popcorn/coffee/water? Covered.
It feels like Morningstar Storage is everywhere, but it started right here in Matthews.
Property managers like Cheryl (pictured below, she gave me the tour) stick around with Morningstar for 8-10+ years on average – she’s been with Morningstar for 9 – and have so much pride in the brand.
Everyone on the team is passionate about what makes Morningstar different and the ways that they help in the community.
5% of their units are donated to local nonprofits, and Cheryl described just a few of the organizations they work with and how they pitch in, like offering pro bono carwashes, loaning out the trucks anytime, participating in events… They put their time (and money) where their mouth is.
Morningstar isn’t afraid of being the premium/niche option.
They have an intense area dedicated to fine art storage, which requires two people simultaneously entering a code to get in. I felt like I was in a spy movie (until I literally wasn’t allowed to go in it, ha).
It’s not finished yet, but they’re working on a dedicated area of sound-proofed units that bands can use for practices. So. Cool.
Artists, musicians, and small businesses already use their units this way, so it’s refreshing to see the brand lean in and make it official.
Whether you’re using it for business or not, 24/7 access is a huge bonus.
The entire storing experience is better when the grounds are insanely clean and well lit, and you have covered unloading all the way around.
The visual experience is wayyyy better than you would expect if you’ve ever dealt with a different company for storage. Flowers, benches and landscaping everywhere gave it a nicer vibe, and the original mural by local artists Matt Hooker and Matt Moore is just plain cool (you can spot it from the light rail).
Let’s talk brass tacks.
The South Blvd. location has 549 units, and they have a 12-month pricing guarantee. Other spots may undercut on pricing at first, but then jack up the rates a few months in.
Pricing does vary by location, but here’s the gist: Small units to store hobby related items start at $59; medium units store up to a two-bedroom apartment and start at $99; larger units for big moves or small business inventory start at $199. Check out all the available sizes here.
If you’re #scaredofcommitment, they can go month-to-month, too.
Moving sucks – they get it.
But they make it as painless as possible with free moving truck rental (for real) and a handy room-by-room moving checklist.
When you need storage, Morningstar is a no-brainer. It’s our hometown brand and the perks and convenience are unbeatable.
