Ray Durham is a noted alumni of Charlotte’s Harding University High, then known as Harry P. Harding High School, where he was a standout on the football and baseball teams.
Durham graduated in 1990 and entered the minor leagues. Durham officially joined the majors in 1995 with the Chicago White Sox.
He spent seven years with the Chicago White Sox, followed by career stops with the Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers.
The two-time All-Star retired from the MLB in 2008.
There’s a lot to love about this property, including the use of stone and wood, which give a cozy hideaway feeling to the huge space. I like how there’s plenty of entertainment areas but also tree-lined seclusion and quiet.
Spending part of retirement in a luxury log cabin where even the pool has river rocks — may we all be so lucky.
And with 148 acres, there’s plenty of room for the next owner to add a mystical cornfield and ballpark.
