
Early voting begins today for the November 7 election.
For the first week, voting will only be conducted at the Hal Marshall Center in Uptown. That’s located at 618 North College Street.
Starting next Saturday (October 28), early voting will open at 16 additional sites spread across the county. You can see an interactive map here.

The Charlotte mayoral race is the headliner.

Everybody in the city of Charlotte will vote in this race. Your choices are Democrat Vi Lyles or Republican Kenny Smith.

Then you’ll vote for the City Council. You will have two different races to vote in.
The first is the at-large race. Four council seats are decided this way, and voted on by the entire city. You’ll vote for four people.
Democrats: Julie Eiselt, Dimple Ajmera, Braxton Winston, James “Smuggie” Mitchell
Republicans: Parker Cains, John Powell, David Rice
Libertarian: Steven DiFore
Then you’ll have your district City Council election and your district school board. Check your sample ballot for the lineups.
Finally, you’ll vote on whether to approve the school bond.
