I’ve passed Halal Food Cart (and their sizable lunchtime lines) countless times, but like an idiot, I’ve never tried their food.

I can’t believe I’ve never had this. It’s parked on the corner of Trade and Tryon in the heart of Uptown.
The Halal Food Cart is owned by a father-and-son team. The father is from Pakistan and his son is from the Dominican Republic.

Sharpening their skills in New York before moving to Charlotte, their combined tastes create a unique flavor. Additionally, they run a restaurant in Mathews.
You’ll find the Halal Food Truck on the corner of Trade and Tryon in the heart of Uptown.

I went at 11:06 a.m. and there was already a line – but it moved quickly.
You’ll be tempted to order their gyro, or Philly — but if it’s your first time, order their #1 most popular dish, the Chicken and Lamb Combo. It’ll cost you $5.99.

I love these prices.
As you’re waiting for them to call your name. Just stare into the window at the delicious meat.

Meat sweats anyone? Yes please.
Thankfully, I said yes to both the spicy sauce and the white sauce. While it doesn’t make for a beautiful Instagram, the Chicken and Lamb Combo is freaking delicious.

The only change I’d make to this order is that I’d go light sauce.
You’ll see me at the Halal Food Cart again, soon. Yum.
