Not Just Coffee will open its fourth permanent location inside of the TABOR and SOCO Gallery building on Saturday.

The exact location is 421 Providence Road. Not Just Coffee has been doing pop-ups in the space for the past few months, so people familiar with these brands will be excited to see that they’ve metaphorically gone from dating to marriage.

Hours for the new location will be Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and closed on Sunday. This location will have a slightly scaled back menu.

In honor of their grand opening on Saturday, customers will receive their choice of a free cup of cold brew or hot coffee all day long. There’ll also be raffle prizes that include: SOCO Gallery coffee table book ($40 value) and $25 gift card, $75 TABOR gift card, NJC coffee box gift, and a free record (of your choice) from Cream Puff Records.

There will not be a food menu besides some small pastries (similar menu to their Atherton location). So nope, you can’t get your avocado toast there.

Customers should expect free WiFi and a gorgeous space with great clothing, books, shoes and art.

With a gorgeous hidden garden and cool patio this will be a cool “coffee meeting” type space for the fall.

Myers Park neighbors are pumped, but it’ll be interesting to see if Not Just Coffee can win over the daily coffee habits of commuters.

“Amen! Finally a legitimate and high octane competitor to Charlotte’s best coffee value: Laurel Market!” said neighbor Edwin Peacock.

Another neighbor told the Agenda, “Pumped about NJC for my weekends; they’re clearly the #1 coffee shop in Charlotte. But Starbucks likely still has my business on weekdays due to their app and ease of ordering. Saves me 9 minutes which is equal to one snooze button.”

Starbucks and Laurel Market are the only coffee shops in the area.

Providence is such a high traffic road going into Uptown that NJC will only have to win over a tiny percentage of commuters to build a meaningful business. That’ll be easy for them given their street cred and this will quickly become the go-to “coffee meeting” destination in Myers Park.

James and Miracle Yoder, owners of Not Just Coffee, chose the new location because of a mutual admiration for what TABOR and SOCO Gallery are trying to accomplish.

“It’s cool to work with businesses that are bringing creative and really thoughtfully curated items to Charlotte,” James said. “We’ll be throwing some sort of grand re-opening party and plenty of events in the space with both TABOR and SOCO Gallery, but for this weekend just sort of rolling out a soft opening.”
