A long-awaited Uptown bar is finally approaching an opening date.
Graham St. Pub & Patio is targeting a late September opening at the corner of South Graham Street and East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard — just in time for the second or third Panthers game.
In the meantime, they will also be seeking game day permits to serve food and drinks outside on the patio ahead of the rest of the building’s completion.
An exact opening date is expected later today.

The little white building has had a tumultuous last few years.
Chupitos, an all-shots bar concept, dragged along there for two years before the owner pleaded guilty to a $3 million investment fraud scheme last year.
New ownership took over the 2,200-square-foot building in May of 2016 and introduced plans for Graham St. Pub & Patio, a chill neighborhood bar with a rooftop patio. People went wild.
Facing engineering and permitting hurdles, the site sat largely untouched as its projected spring 2017 opening date came and went. Work finally got underway late last month, and now an end is in sight.

Patio construction underway in July
Graham St. Pub’s proximity to BB&T Ballpark and Bank of America Stadium will make it a prime game day destination.
Even without ample dedicated parking, the bar will benefit from the heavy flow of foot traffic when the Knights and Panthers are playing.
