If you’re a sucker for old-school diners, you’ll want to try the Dive N.
This breakfast and lunch spot is tucked off N.C. 51 right near the I-485 interchange (a 20-minute drive from Uptown with good traffic) but still flies under the radar.

Try the burgers ($5.20 for a cheeseburger with side).
The full menu is extensive and I’ve heard good things about the fried chicken platter. But for your first visit, you’ll want to keep it simple.

It’s only open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No dinner and no Sundays.
Need another reason? I love any place that has a full roll of paper towels on the table.
